Exceptional hospitality always begins with a meal. It’s at the core of entertaining, and what truly makes an experience stand out from the rest. As leaders in hospitality, we have a keen eye for these sorts of culinary adventures: cozying up to the bar on a rainy Tuesday evening, being engulfed in the restaurant’s atmosphere, anxiously awaiting your next trip because the server was attentive and made thoughtful recommendations… it all adds up to an unforgettable culinary experience that you can’t wait to share the minute you return to the comforts of home.
One of the greatest places to feel this energy? New York City. Lauren and Abbey recently discovered a few places you should add to your Big Apple bucket list. Here’s where...
To Brunch: Citizens of Chelsea
Stop by Citizens of Chelsea Café to brunch, and leave with a full stomach of the best overnight oats of your life. Rolled oats soaked overnight in coconut milk, honey and raspberry, topped with cacao nibs, hazelnut crumble, dragon fruit panna cotta, and fresh fruits? Don’t mind if we do. The balance of sweetness from the honey and raspberry, the earthiness of the oats and the perfect spot to sit down and enjoy a quick bite left Lauren feeling refreshed and ready for the day.
To Drink: The Whitby
Described as a rich, colorful, and airy room with high ceilings and an impressive 30-foot pewter bar, you can’t go wrong with the ambiance and atmosphere of The Whitby. Topped off with unique, crowd-pleasing cocktails, this is the best place in town for drinks.
To Nosh: Eataly
One word: Vibrant. Eataly is an Italian marketplace chock full of restaurants, bakeries, beverage counters and more. Look no further for a nice afternoon glass of wine and nosh.
To Fine Dine: Maialino
As part of Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group, Maialino is a no-brainer. It’s hard to say no to a place that’s owned by the person who literally wrote the book (several, actually) on hospitality. Plus, it overlooks Gramercy Park. Lauren says it’s her fave, and we can see why!
To Stay Comfy: Uncle Boons
Uncle Boon’s is sure to cure your craving for an amazing, spicy Thai. Located in Lower Manhattan in an underground clubhouse, it’s a combination of comfortable and inventive, serving some of the best Thai food, and a coconut sundae that’s out of this world.
